Hoisting TCVT W4-07

Operators carrying out hoisting work on a construction site in the Netherlands with hoisting equipment with an operating load moment of 10 t/m or more must have a personal TCVT certificate for the relevant machine. A construction site could be any temporary or mobile workplace where civil engineering works or construction works are being carried out. The operating load moment can be found in the hoist or load diagram of the telescopic handler.

Theory:

• Working Conditions Act
• Preparing the workplace
• Performing lifting work
• Designations of types
• Performing daily maintenance
• Moving a telescopic handler independently
• Recognizing malfunctions
• Using safety measures
• Safety systems
• Load moment limiter
• According to the company regulations
• Environmentally responsible work

Practice:

• Initial inspection (visual) and maintenance check
• Equipment
• Setting up the telescopic handler
• Last Minute Risk Analysis
• Driving with the load
• Efficient and safe driving
• Distances/Flight/Load moment
• Placing the load vertically, or tilting/moving the load sideways
• Packing up the machine
• Calculating stamp pressure
• Leaving the machine and cleaning up/clearing the work area

Further TCVT training

A condition of the TCVT training is that relevant further training is followed during the 5-year validity period of the TCVT telescopic handler certificate. This is intended for refreshment/deepening/broadening of the professional competence as a driver/hoist. The training must cover all learning outcomes of the relevant certification scheme.   

The following requirements have been formulated for this:

• 2 training days must be followed at a TCVT approved training institution within the validity period of 5 years
• The first training day (module AB) must be followed in the first 36 months of the 5-year certification period
• The second training day (module CD) must be followed in the last 24 months of the 5-year period

Good to know

Foreign operators of telescopic handlers who want to work in the Netherlands need to have a TCVT certificate. This certificate allows them to incidentally work in the Netherlands.
