At Collé, in the interest of effective communication, we decided to establish a Single Point of Contact (SPOC). During the entire cycle - from the set-up phase to the execution and demobilization of the turnaround - we were operational from 06:00 to 02:00 from our project unit. From this position, we managed a range of critical aspects, including safety, power, utilities and the facility management.
We took every issue seriously and actively sought possible solutions. During the turnaround, we identified a need for noise mitigation measures. Several possible solutions were examined and a thorough evaluation of the pros and cons of each option was conducted. This allowed us to make an informed decision, achieving optimal results without wasting unnecessary time. The decision ultimately fell on the installation of soundproofing walls. Following this decision, the necessary walls were urgently installed.
Our project manager, Bjorn, provided continuous supervision and was fulltime on site to check for additional requirements. He maintained oversight and saw to it that no unforeseen needs remained unmet.

Workplace safety is paramount during a turnaround. RWE implements strict safety protocols and measures to ensure a safe working environment. During the turnaround, workers from various countries work together on the project, which can lead to differences in applicable safety requirements and put additional pressure on the communication of safety updates. Safetystreet handles everything related to safety on the work floor, including training, toolboxes and additional briefings. A certified trainer from Collé is available full-time so people can quickly obtain the appropriate certifications, for example. Workers can also come here for personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices. Safetystreet is located near the worksite to minimize time lost to unnecessary walking back and forth.

At the One Stop Rental Shop, supplies can be rented or purchased on-site, such as tools, machinery and consumables. A careful selection of the inventory is made for each project, taking into account the materials and tools needed for the work, as well as other factors such as environmental requirements. The design of the One Stop Rental Shop system is simple and very efficient. Everything is aimed at quick and registered handling. We work with a pass system that is easy to use and instantly records all data. Limits or restrictions can be set on these passes so that the employer, if desired, can keep control of the rental costs. Like Safetystreet, the One Stop Rental Shop is located close to the workplace.

It is essential that during a turnaround, operational processes run smoothly and without interruptions. For this, uninterrupted functionality of all equipment is indispensable. To keep the 34 generators, the entire mobile equipment, radiators, compressors and heaters operational, the deployment of a well thought-out fuel management system was necessary.
Careful monitoring and timely fuel replenishment were crucial components of this system. Equally important was the implementation of a logistics strategy to ensure a regular supply of fuel to the site. This ensured that all operational processes could continue to run with the required fuel supply, ensuring the optimal execution of the turnaround.
