Essent collect an award, thanks to Collé.

Collé Rental & Sales made a contribution to the RoSPA Silver Award won by energy company RWE/Essent for their renovation work on the Claus C power station in Maasbracht. IAE Chair Maria van der Hoeven opened Essent's refurbished gas fired power station in Maasbracht at the end of June. The station is now among the largest, cleanest and most efficient power stations in Europe.

Knowing the ins and outs

The RoSPA Award is a prestigious international health and safety award, presented to organisations which are continually active in accident prevention and health improvement. They must also have a health and safety management system in place. Collé were responsible for the setting up and total oversight of a container park and electrical supplies, and our service provision helped to provide and maintain a safe working environment at the Claus-C site. The equipment and the services provided by our specialist department Collé Project can be precisely designed to meet the specific needs of the client, for example during shutdowns in the manufacturing, petrochemicals or energy sector. Our wealth of experience and our deep understanding of these sectors makes Collé Project a partner capable of thinking things through with the client. As well as the setting up of a complete container park we handled a complete package of activities at the Clauscentrale, from the provision of temporary accommodation through to the laying on of temporary utilities and the catering arrangements. Collé provided a number of machines including telescopic fork lifts, mobile elevating work platforms, generators, forklift trucks and lighting masts for use during the construction work.

More than 450 units for around 1,200 people

Collé provided the accommodation for virtually all the contractors on site (including Ballast Nedam, Alstom, Cegelec, FMM, Copisa, Da Vinci, Bis, Hertel). The container park, consisting of around 450 units, fulfilled several different purposes, including offices, a canteen and a range of sanitary facilities, changing rooms and workshops for the 1,200+ people working on the site. Collé also installed and maintained the associated energy, water and heating facilities as well as the internal and external lighting for the park, which was in use around the clock. Collé Rental and Sales handled the cleaning, and even topped up the coffee machines.

Showpiece

We are particularly proud of our contribution to the RoSPA Award. We see this as recognition of the outstanding service delivered by Collé, every day and around the clock during the entire project. We see our contribution to the renovation of the Claus power station as a showpiece, and we will be approaching new projects with renewed confidence.
